Leeds fans have been busy discussing whether they could bring in Lyle Taylor in January.
The Charlton forward recently rejected a new contract offer, a development which could put several clubs on high alert since he only has seven months left to run on his current deal.
He could be available on a free at the end of the season but another Championship club could decide to make a move for him in January, as he should be affordable at a relatively low price, despite his quality.
Taylor scored five goals in six Championship starts at the beginning of the season before picking up an injury, but despite that some Leeds supporters aren’t too keen on him.
It is a surprising view given his goalscoring form in recent months, and how pivotal he was to Charlton’s promotion-winning campaign last season.
A true test for any Leeds fan: Can you match these iconic images with the right results?
Eddie Nketiah’s Leeds future is in doubt due to fears of Arsenal recalling the striker, and though Rhian Brewster has been linked, the Whites could be left with Patrick Bamford as their sole senior striker by the end of January.
As a result, they should be keen for Taylor to join. The added boost of a new forward could be hugely significant on and off the pitch, as the mental boost of bringing in a goalscorer should fill players with confidence.
Some fans want to see the 29-year-old brought in but fear the board won’t be forthcoming in terms of providing transfer funds, which is an understandable view given Victor Orta’s comments about spending conservatively.
In other news, Noel Whelan has commented on Leeds’ chances of signing Brewster, and revealed that Marcelo Bielsa could provide the key.
