Benteke, 28, departed the club for Liverpool in a reported £32.5m deal in 2015, but the Belgian left Anfield for Palace just one year later, where he has struggled to reignite his career and reach the heights of his stint with Villa, scoring just four league goals across the last three seasons.
The issues of depth in Dean Smith’s strike force owing to the potential exit of Jonathan Kodjia to Beskitas hints that Villa could be looking for a striker to sign in January, and Benteke has admitted to La Derniere Heure that he may reconsider his Palace future when the transfer window reopens.
