Watford piled more misery on Everton boss Ronald Koeman this weekend, a 3-2 victory giving them their first win over The Toffees since 1987.
We highlighted before the game that Evertonians did not like the look of today’s starting XI and the naysayers were proven right, Watford outplaying Everton for large spells of the game.
Most of the complaints were to do with the defensive nature of the midfield. The fact that the Toffees looked much better when Ross Barkley came on won’t do much to change fans’ mind that their manager got it wrong today.
The result means it’s now five games without a win in the Premier League for Koeman’s men with three of them being defeats. They’ve also only kept one clean sheet in their last eleven Premier League games. Their only win in the last ten Premier League games came at home to West Ham.
It’s dreadful form.
What’s worse is that The Hornets weren’t exactly in rich form themselves heading into the match having won just two of their last six. They were also recently routed by Everton’s city rivals Liverpool in a 6-1 defeat at Anfield.
It’s all made Everton fans rather angry and they’re worried the club is going backwards under Koeman. Is time running out for the Dutchman?
