The Blues had taken the lead through Cole Palmer but a penalty from Justin Kluivert and a fine finish from Antoine Semenyo appeared to have set the Cherries on the road to victory, until James netted his exceptional set-piece.

After the game, the right-back tore into his team-mates for failing to put the game to bed. Indeed, throughout the 90 minutes, Enzo Maresca's side had 26 shots to Bournemouth's seven, with 10 on target, and James was disappointed that his late intervention was required.
WHAT JAMES SAID
Speaking to , James said: "There's positives to take away from the game, going behind to come back and take a point but there's negatives not taking chances. Mixed emotions."
Asked if he thought a draw was a fair result, James replied: "To be honest I don't. We had a few clear cut chances we should have taken in the first half and put the game to bed. That can come back to bite you in the arse. That's across football globally, if you don't take chances it could come back and hurt you."
