Some Leeds United fans have got their hopes up about James Milner signing for the club after the Yorkshire Evening Post sent out a rather misleading tweet using quotes from the midfielder’s book.
As we have been over before on FFC, the actual full set of quotes make it seem as if the Liverpool man is tentative to return to his boyhood club, but the paper chose to neglect those parts in their social media post.
This has understandably sent a small section of the fanbase into a frenzy, but their excitement might actually be shortlived.
Milner went onto say the following: “But at the same time, they say ‘Never go back,’ don’t they? What happens if you go back and it isn’t the fairy-tale finish? Would it be the right thing for me? Would it be the right thing for them?”
On that evidence, supporters perhaps shouldn’t be getting their hopes up.

In reality, it seems rather unlikely that the £13.5m-rated Milner will sign for the Whites anytime soon unless the stars perfectly align in the near future.
Fans won’t like to hear it, but they’ve been misled by this small selection of quotes, and their responses on Twitter show that they’ve not looked deeper into what was actually said.
